NAACP President Disappointed With Ansonia Alderman’s Behavior

I, like many other tax-payers and voters, have read and reviewed the video footage of Alderman Tripp at the Donald Trump rally and I am truly disappointed with his behavior.

At a time in our nation where the intolerance of differences in beliefs and opinions has led to violence, it is disheartening that the face of our leadership in Ansonia openly displayed intolerance and belligerence.

We are a nation trying to heal, we are having local community forums to improve communication and increase tolerance.

Why would we here in Ansonia settle for leadership that promotes intolerance, profanity and a refusal to hear any opinion that differs from their own? Would Alderman Tripp respond in the same way to all types of diversity? A question the Mayor and voters must ponder!

As the President of the Ansonia NAACP, I am deeply troubled by Alderman Tripp’s behavior. His rigid beliefs leave no room for open, honest dialogue that is the cornerstone of progress.
