Naugatuck Upends Ansonia For NVL Championship

The Ansonia Chargers (9 – 1) fell to the Naugatuck Greyhounds by a score of 38 – 20 in the NVL Championship Thursday at Jarvis Stadium. 

The Chargers had difficulty getting senior running back Montrell Dobbs going. Dobbs rushed for a season-low 105 yards on 25 carries for Ansonia. 

With the win, Naugatuck qualifies for the Class L playoffs while Ansonia had already clinched a spot in the Class S playoffs. 

Quarterback Elliot Chudwick was sacked a dozen times by the Greyhound defense. Chudwick threw for two TDs and Dobbs added a rushing TD for the Chargers. 

The Chargers will host Hyde in the Class S opening-round game Tuesday, Nov. 30th at 6 p.m.
