In this week’s Navel Gazing, we begin — after a brief interruption while listening to a emergency scanner dispatch — with a quick recap of Wednesday night’s presidential debate, during which we pretty much agree with the consensus of our readers that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney bested President Barack Obama.
We then broaden the discussion to how the debate was covered, especially by small or regional news sites, and how much of an appetite we think there is from readers of local news outlets for stories related to statewide or national news. (It quickly becomes clear that we don’t think there is much of an appetite for such news on a site like the Valley Indy, and yes, we realize the irony of our publishing a podcast about it anyway.)
But don’t worry, Eugene somehow brings the conversation around to beloved comedian Louis C.K., who we both agree would make a better president than either major party candidate running, and Ethan makes a gratuitous reference to this hilarious video from the early days of the Valley Indy.
