NAVEL GAZING: Superstorm Edition

As expected, Superstorm Sandy walloped the Northeast this week, and while the lower Naugatuck Valley wasn’t as hard-hit as some other areas, there are still thousands without power. So in this week’s “Navel Gazing,” we update residents who are still in the dark about services available in their towns, from shelters to comfort stations to places to charge your cell phones and electronics. That information is also available by clicking here.

We also talk briefly about how long the wait might be for those in the Valley without power. Since the problems in most of this area are comparatively light compared to shoreline towns like Bridgeport and Fairfield, utility companies have prioritized getting the most people back online soonest.

We wrap up with a sentiment that we really can’t say enough, and that’s a huge thank you to all of the readers who shared information or pictures with us during the storm and its aftermath. Please continue to do so!
