CONNECTICUT — NBC Connecticut Chief Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan spent his birthday Friday recovering from coronavirus, he announced on Twitter Monday (see above).
Though he had a cough, his symptoms were “very mild.” He also temporarily lost his sense of smell, and overall felt fatigued.
“Feel pretty good now and will work from home for a couple days while I finish my quarantine,” he wrote. “I’m so thankful I was vaccinated and my symptoms were minimal.”
As a whole, Connecticut is doing quite well on the vaccination front, with more than 75 percent of eligible teens and adults having completed their full vaccination regimen, according to state health officials.
But with that in mind, 30 percent of current COVID-19 patients in the state are breakthrough cases of the fully vaccinated, such as Hanrahan.
