The Derby Board of Education has appointed Martin Pascale of Waterbury as the new Assistant Principal at Derby High School.
Mr. Pascale will succeed Paul Landolfi, who was Interim Assistant Principal at the high school since August 2011.
For the past 12 years, Mr. Pascale has been a lead social studies teacher at Ansonia High School.
Mr. Pascale currently holds a Connecticut Teaching Certificate in History and Social Studies and recently earned a 6th year Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Bridgeport.
In nominating Mr. Pascale for the high school post, Principal Greg Gaillard described him as a “talented and dedicated educator who knows how to connect with staff, students, and our community. Marty’s knowledge of curriculum, assessment, instruction along with his concern for student success will make him a valuable member of the leadership team at Derby High School.”
Mr. Pascale is expected to assume his responsibilities at Derby High School May 1, 2013.
