Planet Fitness is eying a 20,000-square-foot facility on Bridgeport Avenue for a new gym.
The company — under the name “Bridgeport Ave. Fitness LLC” — submitted plans to the Planning and Zoning Commission last week.
The contact number for the applicant is Planet Fitness headquarters, and documents in the application are labeled “proposed Planet Fitness location.”
Representatives from Planet Fitness declined to comment on the proposal at this time.
The plans call for a gym in 20,000 square feet of a warehouse-type building at 466 Bridgeport Avenue — industrial land near the Wal-mart.

Shelton already has two Planet Fitness locations.
One is south of the proposed location on Bridgeport Avenue.
The other is in the Sports Center of Connecticut on River Road.
The application documents do not indicate if either of those locations would move to the new site, if the plans are approved.
The Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing on the proposal on Nov. 30 — unless there is a conflict getting the meeting room at City Hall.
