A 30-year-old New Haven woman was charged with driving under the influence after allegedly driving the wrong way on a Route 8 ramp and causing a multi-vehicle wreck on Memorial Day.
The crash sent three people to the hospital, but not Danielle Boulanger, the alleged drunk driver.
According to an information summary sent by state police Troop I, Boulanger drove up the Route 8 exit 14 southbound ramp at about 9:45 p.m. May 25.
A vehicle heading south on the ramp “was unable to avoid colliding” with Boulanger’s vehicle, according to state police.
A third vehicle then rear-ended the car that hit Boulanger.
The three people sent to Bridgeport and Griffin hospitals complained of neck, back and chest pains. There’s no further info on their injuries.
Boulanger was also charged with driving the wrong way on a highway. She was released on a $500 bond pending a June 12 court date in Superior Court in Derby.
The crash closed the highway for about an hour, according to the New Haven Register.
