On Sunday, Sept. 13, Trinity Episcopal Church at 91 Church St. will be welcoming their new priest, the Rev. Kristina Lewis.
Rev. Lewis succeeds the Rev. Richard G. M. Chambers, who retired in 2007 after serving as the spiritual leader at Trinity for 18 years.
Rev. Lewis was an assistant priest for 4 years in Barnstable, Mass. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.
Prior to her appointment to St. Mary’s, Lewis was assistant professor at St. Michael’s College in Vermont.
She graduated Summa Cum Laude, College of Charleston, receiving her doctorate degree in developmental psychology from University of Florida in 1994.
Rev. Lewis was ordained priest in January, 2006.
Rev. Lewis will be Trinity’s 32nd rector and their first female priest.
Following the 10 a.m. service on Sept. 13, the parish will hold its annual picnic.
This will give all parishioners and interested people of the community an opportunity to meet and welcome Rev. Lewis.
