SEYMOUR – New safety signs are coming to Route 8 to warn motorists of a curve in the highway near exit 22, state Rep. Nicole Klarides-Ditria announced Tuesday.
Klarides-Ditria wrote a letter last year asking the state Department of Transportation to look at exit 22 ramps last year.
“I received many complaints that exit 22 on Route 8 was unsafe,” Klarides-Ditria said in a prepared statement.
DOT crews are scheduled to install new signs, along with moving existing warning signs to a new location to give drivers more advanced warning of the curve.
“I want to thank the Department of Transportation for reviewing this matter and making the necessary improvements to the area to prevent accidents and keep residents safe,” Klarides-Ditria said.
In addition, “retroreflective delineators” will be installed on the median barrier.
