An Ansonia man was arrested for illegally carrying a gun and for possession of marijuana after police found him with both when they responded to a noise complaint early Sunday.
Damion O. Wright, 28, of 30 Burke St., was charged with possession of less than 4 ounces of a controlled substance, carrying a gun without a permit and criminal possession of a firearm.
Police said they arrived at a home on Jewett Street after midnight and talked with three men at the home about the disturbance. According to Lt. Wayne Williams, Wright kept walking away from the officer as he spoke with the men. The officer asked if he had any weapons, and the man admitted to carrying a loaded gun, Williams said.
Wright gave the gun to the officer without incident, Williams said.
Court information was not available Monday.
