Ansonia police arrested 14 people in two separate fights over the weekend, while Seymour police arrested a Beacon Falls man on drug possession charges.

Ansonia Police spokesman Lt. Andrew Cota said the fight started when unwanted” people showed up at the party. Seven of the 10 arrested were younger than 18 and were not identified. 

The others were David Adkins, 20, of Shelton, John Benitez, 18, of Ansonia and Jamesha Wesley, 18, of Bridgeport. Benitez was also charged with interfering with police. The adult parties were released on $500 bonds and are scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on Sept. 28. 

Ansonia police also broke up a separate fight outside of a residence on North Main Street early Friday. In that fight, which happened about 12:02 a.m., a disagreement among a group of women escalated to a physical fight where a pregnant woman was assaulted, Cota said. The pregnant woman was not injured during the fight, Cota said.

Police charged Magaly Rios, 23, of Ansonia, with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree assault on a pregnant person. 

Three other people were charged with breach of peace for the fight: Samantha Parillo, 19, of Westport; Jessica Roman, 29, of Ansonia and Jezreel Lignor, 20, of Derby. 

Seymour files drug possession charges

Seymour police arrested a Beacon Falls man on Friday after they said they found crack cocaine in his car during a motor vehicle stop. 

Kenneth R. Magda, 45, of 11 Fairfield Place, Beacon Falls, was charged with possession of a narcotic substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and for having back-up lights lit while driving forward. 

Police said they pulled Magda over on Roosevelt Drive.
