No Injuries After Car Crashes Into Huntington Business

An 82-year-old woman told police her foot slipped off the brake pedal and onto the accelerator causing her Cadillac to careen through the front window of Modern Nails in Huntington Plaza Tuesday.

Luckily there were no injuries — even though there were employees and customers in the store. The crash was reported at about 2:30 p.m.

The driver, a Shelton, resident, declined medical attention. Shelton police, fire and EMS were called to the scene, as were town building officials.

The business was closed as of 3:13 p.m. and some firefighters were still on the scene.
