No Injuries As Car Hits House

The luck of the Irish” was with the driver of a car and the occupants of a house that wound up on a collision course St. Patrick’s Day afternoon.

Fire Lt. Scott Foster said it was lucky that nobody was injured when a car driven by a woman smashed into a house at 22 Jewett Street.

Yes, they were lucky,” Foster said at the scene.

Police at the scene were trying to determine how the woman driving the Nissan Altima wound up striking the house, causing minor damage to the building and to the front end of the car. Some bushes were also driven through.

The driver’s name wasn’t available. She was the only person in the car.

An occupant of the house, Theresa Penzerro, was glad there were no injures.

It sounded like there was an explosion,” Penzerro said.

The house is at the corner of Jewett and Danielczuk.

As of 3:50 p.m., emergency officials were trying to get a building inspector to the scene.
