Three fire companies responded to a garage fire on Mohegan Road Friday evening.
Assistant Fire Chief Nick Verdicchio said no one was injured in the fire, which was reported at 5:13 p.m.
An 11-year-old at the home at 16 Mohegan Road called police when she saw the flames, Verdicchio said. The volunteer firefighters were able to put the fire out within five minutes of arriving on scene, he said.
While the garage suffered burn damage, the house to its left had only heat damage to the siding.
The fire marshal is now investigating the cause, though Verdicchio said the fire hasn’t been labeled suspicious.
