No Injuries In Minor Derby Fire

Derby firefighters quickly extinguished a fire in a kitchen at an Olivia Street apartment Tuesday.

There were no injuries.

A person living in the apartment at 160 Olivia St. came out of the two-family home at about 9:30 a.m. and said the oven was on fire. 

The Derby Storm and Rescue Corps is across the street.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire in less than three minutes. There was minimal damage to the kitchen.

The fire was caused by grease from cooking.
