No Injuries Reported After Garage Fire In Ansonia

ANSONIA — There were no injuries reported after a multi-vehicle car fire on Crescent Street Thursday.

The fire, reported at roughly 3:30 p.m., started in a sedan parked outside a detached garage. The first units on scene arrived to see a vehicle fully involved” with flames, which spread to a second vehicle, a Honda, parked next to it. 

The fire spread inside to the garage, which held three additional vehicles. Ansonia Fire Department First Assistant Chief Alex Horjatschun said the vehicles inside the garage were not badly damage.

Derby and Seymour firefighters were also called to the scene, which is dictated by mutual aid agreements.

As of 4:15 p.m., the Ansonia Fire Marshal’s Office was investigating the cause.

An estimated 30 firefighters responded to the scene. Thursday was Thanksgiving. 

The garage was near Crescent Street’s intersection with Howard Avenue, a short walk from Ansonia Middle School.
