Northeast Living” host Mar Jennings said Thursday he learned about the Humphreys House through Linda Milardo, a docent at the historical society. Linda and her mother are big fans of his show, Jennings said.

Jennings toured the house and got a glimpse of the historical society’s A Day in 1762” program. The program has given countless fifth-graders in the region a taste of what is was like to be a kid in 1762.

Jennings jumped into the role of host and colonial squire … complete with period clothing,” he wrote on his blog.

Jennings said his experience at the Humphreys House was one of the cooler assignments he’s tackled as Northeast Living” host.

I get to go to all of these really wonderful places and certainly the David Humphreys House was a little jewel practically in my own backyard,” he said. Anytime I can go back and highlight something of yesterday in a new way and bring a new set of eyes to it — that’s what it’s all about.”

Jennings lives in Westport.
