NVHD Reports 13 Additional COVID-19 Related Deaths Over Three-Week Period

The Naugatuck Valley Health District reported 13 additional COVID-19 associated deaths in the area Monday.

The deaths happened over a three-week period, according to the health district.

The people who died included a man from Shelton in his 40s. No additional information was given about the people, other than that the 12 other deaths were residents of unidentified nursing homes in Naugatuck and Shelton.

While today’s report includes a high number of deaths, the deaths reported occurred between the period of April 25 to May 15,” according to a prepared statement from the Naugatuck Valley Health District.

Additional information or clarification was not provided Monday.

Ansonia
Four people have died. There are two probable” COVID-19 associated deaths.

Twenty-three people have died

Seymour
Thirty-four people have died. There are four probable” COVID-19 associated deaths.

Shelton
101 people have died. There are 24 probable” COVID-19 associated deaths.

In total, 164 people have died since March, with an additional 30 probable” COVID deaths. According to the health district, 148 of the fatalities have been among people living in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, group homes, and similar settings.
