State lawmakers from the Greater Valley area celebrated the Shelton-based company OEM Controls 50 years in business.
The company was recently recognized for its achievement and success at the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce Legislative Wrap Up, which took place on June 9.
Valley-area state lawmakers, Senator Kevin Kelly, Rep. Themis Klarides, Rep. Jason Perillo, Rep. Ben McGorty, and Rep. David Labriola presented OEM with an official citation at the event applauding their achievement.
“Over the years, OEM Controls has stood as a symbol of local business in the Shelton community,” the citation read. “Your hard work and entrepreneurial spirit has led you to this achievement, and we wish you many more years of continued success.”
OEM Controls, Inc. is a manufacturer of electro-hydraulic controllers and joysticks for industrial and mobile equipment. OEM was founded in 1966 by S. Brian Simons, a University of Connecticut alumnus. The founder’s sons, Keith and Sam, now serve as co-presidents of the company. The headquarters is located at 10 Controls Dr. in Shelton.
