Official: Ansonia Harvest Festival Still Scheduled For Saturday

ANSONIA — Rich DiCarlo, of the city’s cultural commission, sent word Friday that the annual Ansonia Harvest Festival is still scheduled to happen on Saturday, Sept. 30.

The event had originally been scheduled for Sept. 24 but was rescheduled for Sept. 30 because of last week’s forecast.

DiCarlo sent an email to the press Friday saying despite Friday’s heavy rain, things still look good for the event.

Our weather sources call for the current rains and their percentage of showers to diminish by the start of the event. Our Annual Ansonia Harvest Festival is still on for Saturday, Sept. 30, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.,” DiCarlo said. We hope to see everyone there for a wonderful day of family fun!”

The harvest festival takes place in downtown Ansonia.

Lt. Patrick Lynch of the Ansonia Police Department sent an email Friday morning reminding motorists of road closures scheduled to accommodate the event:

On Saturday, September 30, 2023, Main Street from Tremont Street to the Maple Street bridge will be closed from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. to vehicular traffic and parking will not be allowed while the annual Harvest Festival takes place. In order to detour traffic the one way section of East Main Street from Kingston Drive to Main Street will be open for two way traffic. There will be no parking on East Main Street between Kingston Drive and Main Street during the Main Street road closure. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.”
