St. Thomas the Apostle Church , 733 Oxford Road (Route 67) will be having a “live” Lenten Devotion for the Stations of the Cross which will be coming up next month.
Starting at 7 p.m. on the Fridays during Lent, which will begin on Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. and will take place on consecutive Fridays until March 30, at 7 p.m. ‚the church will conduct the devotion called, “A Way of the Cross,’‘ and informational sheets will be provided to those who attend so that they can follow along.
The Stations of the Cross draws upon a tradition which dates to about the 15th century and those in attendance will participate in the readings which enable them to make a spiritual pilgrimage of prayer by meditating upon the chief scenes of Christ’s suffering and death.
The readings are supported by real characters portrayed by parishioners and with an original musical background score written by a local composer. Please come and be amazed!
Feedback received after last year’s program included: “In all the years I have been doing this during Lent, I have never before had to fight the emotion like I did on Friday.”
