In November, Oxford and all other Connecticut towns will be holding elections for local offices.
Here in Oxford, all of these positions — First Selectman, Board of Selectmen,Town Clerk, Tax Collector, Treasurer, Board of Finance, Board of Education, Planning and Zoning, Board of Assessment Appeals and Zoning Board of Appeals — will be up for election.
The political parties in each town have the responsibility of finding candidates to fill these positions. The Oxford Democratic Town Committee is currently seeking residents who wish to run for any of these offices.
Unaffiliated voters miss out on this important initial process. However, the Oxford Democratic Town Committee is open to any inquiries from unaffiliated voters who may have an interest in running for these offices.
The slate of candidates will be chosen in July.
