The Oxford Economic Development Commission will host a public forum in April to inform residents of ongoing development projects in town.
The forum will allow residents to ask commissioners questions about projects, and allow the commission to give details about upcoming initiatives, according to chairman Robert Saracino.
The forum is one of several goals for 2011 the commission approved at its meeting Tuesday.
Other goals include mailing out at least two newsletters during the year, and creating welcome packages for new businesses entering the town.
“We want to have a fact-based piece of information before residents,” said Herman Schuler, the town’s economic development director, about the newsletter.
The commission also plans to establish an Oxford Business Corporation, to focus on engaging existing businesses in town.
Long-term strategies of the commission, as outlined in the goals include to:
- continue to develop town-owned properties
- continue to integrate Oxford with various chamber of commerce resources
- maintain and establish relationships with Oxford businesses
- maintain the EDC section of the town’s website, which promotes the town
