A 26-year-old Ansonia man who allegedly evaded the scene of an accident in Oxford Sunday afternoon was charged with following too closely and evading responsibility.
Police said Robert Antonucci of Ansonia will appear at Superior Court in Derby July 29.
He turned himself in at the Resident State Trooper’s office Sunday evening after officers called him.
The incident happened at 5:19 p.m. on Quaker Farms Road, near the intersection of Wisteria Lane.
Police said Antonucci was operating a 2005 Infiniti G35 southbound on Quaker Farms Road and allegedly rear-ended a 2007 Ford Edge operated by Sarah Beauprey, 33, of Oxford.
Beauprey was trying to stop because an animal was entering the roadway. Antonucci then allegedly passed her vehicle and fled the scene, police said.
She had her six-year-old child in a booster seat, police said. Antonucci also had a 24-year-old passenger.
No injuries were reported.
