Incumbent Oxford First Selectman George Temple still maintains an active law practice even though he is supposed to be a full-time town officer.
The State of Connecticut lists George Temple as an active member of the bar, with a law office at 215 Coram Ave. in Shelton. State records list him as an attorney involved in 13 pending cases in the Milford Civil Court.
One, Trabka v. Loverci, was initiated by Temple this year, when he was supposed to be a full-time First Selectman. The last motion in this case was filed on Oct. 18.

Lukowski v. Glassman was also initiated by Temple this year; this case is scheduled for a pretrial conference the day after Election Day.
A third case, Reyes et al. v. Brown et al., was initiated in September 2011, when Temple was campaigning for office. He has filed numerous motions in this case during his tenure as First Selectman.
A fourth case, Wells Fargo Bank v. Hutchison, was filed in 2010; there were 22 motions filed by either the plaintiff or defendant in this case in 2013.

The Oxford Charter is perfectly clear: Temple has a full-time job with the town. You have to wonder — Can George Temple truthfully say that he can properly handle 13 active court cases and put in a full day working for the town of Oxford? Or is he just moonlighting as First Selectman?
It goes without saying that, if elected, I will be available full-time as First Selectman.
