The Oxford Lions announce the start of their biannual Corvette raffle.
The Oxford Lions will be raffling a 1988 Chevrolet Corvette convertible as their largest fundraising effort this year.
Tickets are available at Oxford Paint and Hardware, Traditional Mortgage and from any Oxford Lions Club member. They are $20, and there will be a maximum of 2,000 sold. The drawing is October 24 at Rose’s Family Restaurant.
The Club uses the proceeds to support its many activities including funding the Oxford DARE program, community improvement projects at Kirk’s Pond and Jackson Cove and other charitable causes.
In addition, Oxford students are encouraged to watch for the start of the second annual pumpkin contest.
Graduating high school students from Oxford that plan to attend college are reminded that the application deadline for the Lions scholarship is May 12 and applications are available at high school guidance offices and the Oxford Board of Education office.
