Oxford Man Charged For Possession of Child Pornography

An Oxford man was arrested this week on a child pornography charge.

Robert Bizewski, 42, of East Street, turned himself into to the Southbury Police Department Wednesday after learning of a warrant for his arrest.

Bizewski was charged with first-degree possession of child pornography and risk of injury to a minor.

State police did not say how much child pornography Bizewski is alleged to have.

The warrant used to arrest him was not available Thursday or Friday because it was being transferred from Superior Court in Derby to Superior Court in Waterbury.

That’s where Bizewski has other charges pending.

Southbury police arrested Bizewski last year after an internet sex sting.

According to a police report from July 2010, Bizewski allegedly tried to meet who he thought was a 14-year-old girl for a sexual encounter.

The girl was actually police officers communicating through e‑mail, chat rooms and text messages.

In July 2010, Bizewski was charged with attempting to entice a minor through the computer, attempt to commit second-degree sexual assault, attempt to misrepresent age to entice a minor, and attempt to commit risk of injury to a child.

He pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

Bizewski is due back at Superior Court in Waterbury on July 26 for both incidents.
