Oxford resident Michael D’Angelos ran the ING New York City Marathon on Nov. 3 to raise critical funding and awareness for AmeriCares aid deliveries worldwide.
He was one of 18 runners on Team AmeriCares who collectively raised more than $225,000 for the Stamford-based disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization.
It was D’Angelos’ first marathon and he completed the race in four hours and 20 minutes.
D’Angelos was one of 50,000 runners competing in the world’s most famous marathon.
The annual race raises more than $30 million annually for more than 200 charities.
