Every year the Town of Oxford performs a town-wide clean up in the month of April.
Basically it consists of either residents cleaning up around their own property and/or groups such as the area sport teams and Girl scouts who get involved, pick and area/street to clean.
This is to encourage the younger folks to not litter as well.
The month of April also coincides with Earth Day which is April 22. It can also be noted that the Oxford Public Works department will be open an hour later on the last two Saturdays of April.
For help or information, people can contact Denise Randall at 203 – 828-6507 or denise.randall@oxford-ct.gov or Susan Gibbons at spurcella@snet.net
A pledge form is posted below, which also encourages safety precautions: wear brightly colored clothing, long sleeve shirts and pants tucked in. Also sunblock, eyewear, gloves and bug repellent.
