Oxford Woman OK After Crashing Into Bank

It was business as usual at Naugatuck Savings Bank at 71 Oxford Road Monday following an incident Sunday evening in which an Oxford woman accidentally drove her car through the front wall of the bank.

There were no injuries.

Life goes on,” a manager at the bank said Monday.

Police said Nadia Sobin, 57, of Oxford, accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake on her 2007 Subaru Impreza after she had pulled off Oxford Road into the parking lot of the shopping center and into a parking space.

The crash happened at 6:23 p.m. Sunday.

The vehicle went through the front wall of the bank and into an office inside.

Police took no enforcement action.
