PCRC Announces New Program Coordinator For Valley Kids Belong

Desiree Caporaso has been named the new program coordinator of Valley Kids Belong,” a program of the Parent Child Resource Center in Derby.

The Parent Child Resource Center is the leading provider of behavioral health services to children and families in the lower Valley.

Valley Kids Belong” is a collaborative mental health program that helps kids emotionally, socially and academically. Click here to read more about the program.

Caporaso received a masters degree in social work from Fordham University in 2010. She joins the Parent Child Resource Center after working with adjudicated (court ordered) adolescents within the Yes!” program at Connecticut Renaissance.

She also has experience from the Norwalk Office of Juvenile Probation as well as the Prevention Through Early Intervention Program” at PCRC.

She is an Emergency Medical Technician with the Echo House Ambulance Corp and is a Gold Award Recipient with the Girl Scouts.

Desiree joins a team of Valley Kids Belong staff members who have been working for the last three years to bring preventive-level programs to children and families in the Lower Naugatuck Valley, such as Afterschool Programs, Summer Programs, Triple P Positive Parenting Programs (“Triple P”) and Families and Schools Together (“FAST”). The Lower Naugatuck Valley Parent Child Resource Center has been serving families in Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour, Shelton and the surrounding area since 1975.
