Perillo Gets Leadership Role In Hartford

State Rep. Jason Perillo (R‑113), a Shelton resident, has been tapped by House Republican Leader Lawrence F. Cafero, Jr. to take on a leadership role in the House Republican Caucus of the General Assembly.

He will assume the role of Assistant Minority Leader when the 2013 session of the state legislature convenes on Wednesday, Jan. 9th.

Over the years I have come to rely on Representative Perillo’s counsel and knowledge,” Rep. Cafero said. His talents and expertise within the legislative process make him an indispensable asset in this new role I have appointed him to, and I look forward to his assistance as we address the tough issues facing our state in the coming session.”

Perillo, the former chief of Shelton’s Echo Hose and Ambulance, will return to the legislature’s Public Health Committee where he had formerly served as Ranking Member (leading Republican).

Additionally, he will serve on the Transportation Committee and on the powerful budget-writing Appropriations Committee.

There is a great deal of work to do this session as Connecticut continues to have budget shortfalls while job creation languishes,” Perillo said. I am honored to serve the people of Shelton in the legislature again and I look forward to working on meaningful solutions that will get Connecticut back to work.”
