State Representatives Jason Perillo and Larry Miller are hosting a Holiday Food Drive to benefit the Food Bank at Spooner House. The drive will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Beechwood Market, 40 Huntington St. in Shelton.
Gift cards and monetary gifts will also be accepted.
Examples of needed donations include: instant potatoes, gravy, stuffing mix, canned vegetables (corn, peas, asparagus, yams, carrots), pie crust mix, pie filling, pickles, olives, evaporated milk, coffee, tea, powdered juice mix, canned fruit (peaches, pineapple, mixed fruit, fruit cocktail), napkins, sugar, brownie mix, corn bread mix. More people than ever in the lower Naugatuck Valley are in need of support to obtain all the ingredients necessary for satisfying holiday meals, so please be as generous as possible.
