A Bridgeport man will spend 30 months in prison for stealing more than $370,000 in computer equipment and software from PerkinElmer in Shelton, where he worked as a security guard.
Gabrielle Quinones, 28, was a security guard for Securitas Security Services, and was contracted to work at PerkinElmer in 2009, according to a press release issued by the United States Attorney’s office.
Quinones allegedly stole $379,065 in software, laptop and desktop computers, and other computer equipment from the company’s warehouse, and then listed them for sale on eBay, the press release states.
He pleaded guilty to one count of interstate transportation of stolen merchandise in March 2012.
Quinones was sentenced at U.S. District Court in New Haven by Judge Janet Bond Arterton.
Judge Arterton ordered him to make restitution of $373,776 to PerkinElmer.
After he is released from prison, he will have three years of supervised released.
The Connecticut Financial Crimes Task Force conducted the investigation, according to the press release.
