PHOTO GALLERY: DERBY ALL-CLASS REUNION

Markanthony Izzo sent along this note about last Saturday’s All-Class Reunion in Derby.

Originally conceived by Randy Ritter and the Derby Cultural Commission, this past Labor Day Weekend was the 14th Annual All Class Reunion.

It was run by the Commission for multiple years and was continued by former classmates wanting to keep the tradition alive.

The local media plays a big part in keeping this event alive and in some years just like in any event there will be more people attending than others.

Facebook has become a big factor in promoting the event as well as a location to post photographs of the night which can be seen on FB at Derby (CT) Memories and Reunions as well as the Derby page link here at http://electronicvalley.org/derby/2013/Reunion/index.html.

In the beginning there had been multiple venues classes could gather but within the past couple years it has appeared to settle with the Elks Lodge and Archie Moore’s although all are free to move about the downtown and this year the weather was ideal to do so or even enjoy the outdoor patio at Archie Moore’s.

Alumni Jack Walsh for the past 2 years has brought forward a technology that allowed for LIVE VIDEO ONLINE BROADCASTING and still can be seen through links on Derby’s webpage at www.electronicvalley.org/derby.

Video taken at the Elks can be seen until the camera battery died.

Also for the past several years the DJs at the Elks were also doing Karaoke and they too were broadcasting LIVE AUDIO of the night and sometimes rebroadcast at http://www.megawattradio.com/.

It appeared that classes from at least from the 40’s through the 2000’s were in attendance and that a good time was had by all.
