The second annual Smoke In The Valley” craft beer and chili fest to benefit youth sports and emergency services took place Saturday in Seymour.

Hundreds of people milled about Broad Street and the grounds of the Seymour Community Center on Pine Street through tents set up by the 50 or so brewers who came to the event, as well as a host of other vendors and groups. A total of 2,400 people attended, according to organizers.Click here for more background on the event.

Earlier Saturday, the Pounding the Pavement For Pink 5K to support Seymour Pink’s fight against breast cancer research, which attracted more than 550 registered participants, ended at the community center.

And In Derby, 5K to support patient care programs at Griffin Hospital’s Center for Cancer Care was expected to draw more than 500 as well.
