The Shelton Fire Department emerged victorious in the 2012 “Turkey Bowl” against the Shelton Police Department and EMTs Tuesday.
The final score was 32 – 8, Shelton’s Dave Choate reported.
It may not have been a good night for Shelton police and paramedics. Choate, who photographed the game for the Valley Indy, said the game wasn’t as close as the score indicated.
But it was a good night for the Shelton community, because the game raised money and food donations for the Spooner House and the Shelton High School Food Bank.
“Over $450 was raised and split between the spooner house food bank and the SHS food bank. As well as a full truck load of food donations for the holidays. Food was split up evenly between both food banks,” according to Jamie Goldstein, an EMT with Echo Hose Ambulance.
