Photos: Volunteers Place 3,000 Flags In Derby

More than 30 volunteers from the community showed up early Saturday morning and pitched in to help distribute over 3,000 American Flags to our fallen service men and women in Derby’s cemeteries.

Some volunteers belonging to Veterans organizations, scouts and people who heard the call for help came forward.

Veteran Bernie Williamson showed volunteers how to distinguish a service person’s head stone. Although the skies threatened rain, the rain held off while the flag distribution took place.
