The 4‑year-old boy who fell from a second-story window Wednesday is recovering, authorities reported Thursday morning.
The boy suffered a cut to the head and a broken femur in the fall from a residence. The incident was an accident, Ansonia Police Lt. Andrew Cota said in an email.
“The child was playing with other children when the accident happened and there were adults present,” Cota said.
EMS personnel were sent to 51 Garden St. about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday for what was initially described as pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
Emergency radio transmissions indicated first responders arrived to find a 4‑year-old had fallen out of a window.
Though emergency radio transmissions initially indicated the child had fallen from a third-story window, Cota said in an email that it appears the child fell from a second-story window.
