Police Investigate Derby Green Stabbing, Suspect In Custody

DERBY — Police said a 28-year-old man was in stable condition at Yale-New Haven Hospital after being stabbed in the neck on the Derby Green Tuesday.

A suspect was taken into custody but no charges had been filed as of 11 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

Police were sent to the Derby Green at about 6:40 p.m. where they located the victim, who had several stab wounds to his upper body.

The Derby Green is between Elizabeth and Minerva streets in downtown Derby.

A 39-year-old suspect was found and was in possession of a knife, police said.
