Police Investigate Double Fatal Crash In Shelton

The wreck was found in the woods near the Route 8 on-ramp at Old Stratford Road.

SHELTON – State police are trying to determine what led up to a motor vehicle crash in Shelton that left two people dead.

In an accident information summary Thursday evening, state police only identified the deceased parties as unidentified occupants.“

According to police, a 2002 Honda Accord was found overturned in the woods next to the Route 8 north on-ramp at Old Stratford Road (exit 12). The vehicle had struck several trees.

Two deceased occupants were (found) at the scene,” police said in the statement.

While the overturned vehicle was reported at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 27), police said they believe the crash likely occurred at an unknown time prior to Jan. 27.“

In addition to not knowing who the victims are, police said they do not know who owns the vehicle.
