Police Investigate Threat At Emmett O’Brien In Ansonia

Police are trying to figure out who scribbled There is a bomb in this school” on a wall inside Emmett O’Brien Technical High School Monday.

The threat caused officials to evacuate staff and students, who were sent home early, according to the Valley Gazette.

A state police emergency service unit searched the school and found nothing. Ansonia police, fire and EMS also responded to Emmett O’Brien, which is at 141 Prindle Ave.

The threatening message was found on a wall in a hallway on the school’s first floor, according to a press release from Ansonia Police Lt. Andrew Cota.

The school’s principal called city police. State police were also sent to the scene because EOBs a state-run school.

No suspicious items were located within the building and no other threats were received.This case is still being investigated by the Connecticut State Police. No arrests were made,” according to Ansonia police.

A person at the school hung up on a reporter seeking comment. An e‑mail was sent to the school’s principal.

The Ansonia Fire Department was sent to the school at about 11:30 a.m.
