Police: Man Fired Gun At Cumberland Farms In Shelton

SHELTON – An 18-year-old Shelton man was arrested for allegedly firing a bullet into a gas station on Jan. 28.

No injuries were reported.

Joshua Vazquez is charged with first-degree threatening, unlawful discharge of a firearm, reckless endangerment, carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal possession of a high-capacity magazine and breach of peace.

According to a written statement issued by Shelton police, officers received a report of shots fired at 10:15 p.m. Sunday at the Cumberland Farms, 819 River Road.

The investigating officers found a shell casing in the parking lot, and a broken window at the business.

Police obtained a search warrant for Vazquez’ vehicle and residence.

Detectives with the assistance of CT State Police Gangs and Narcotics Task force later located Vazquez in Ansonia, where a firearm and clothing matching the description worn in surveillance footage at the gas station was recovered,” according to the police statement.
