ANSONIA — A 25-year-old man was arrested after a woman reported that he hid in her car while she was at the CVS on Pershing Drive.
Adiel Viana-Ribeiro, of Bridgeport, is charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal attempt at robbery, second-degree criminal attempt at larceny, and breach of peace.
According to police, officers were flagged down by the victim Thursday at about 10:15 p.m. She told police that after she was in the store, she got into her car and started to drive off — until Viana-Ribeiro popped up from the backseat of the car.
She said that the suspect tried to steal her purse.Police officers, including a canine unit, tracked down and apprehended Viana-Ribeiro on Howard Avenue.
