Police: Man Tried To Pick Up Shelton Teen

A 17-year-old Shelton girl told police a man tried several times to give her a ride to school Tuesday morning.

According to a prepared statement from Shelton Police Lt. Robert Kozlowsky, the incident occurred in the White Hills area.

“A 17-year ‑old female reported that she was walking to her bus stop just before 7 a.m. and noticed a white Nissan drive by her,” Kozlowsky said. “The female got to her bus stop and the same white Nissan stopped next to her and the driver told her the bus had already come and offered her a ride to school. The 17-year-old refused and the male offered a few more times before driving away.”

Police described the man as “an older, heavyset white male.”

Kozlowsky said officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
