Shelton police surrounded a residence on Howe Avenue Wednesday night in order to capture a man wanted for allegedly failing to register as a sex offender.
David Frasier, 31, was arrested on that charge and for violating probation. At some point, Frasier had fled Connecticut instead of registering, police said.
Police said they learned Frasier was living in an apartment at 248 Howe Ave. with his 18-year-old girlfriend and their young child.
Cops surrounded the building and found Frasier hiding in a stairwell.
He is being held on two bonds totaling $100,000 and is due in Superior Court in Derby today.
