Police Search For Robbers Who Hit Pershing Drive Smoke Shop

ANSONIA – Police are looking for the group that robbed a store at gunpoint Saturday night.

Police said at about 7 p.m. June 29 three men walked into Moe’s Smoke Shop at 213 Pershing Drive.

The first man in held the door for two other men, both of whom were armed with handguns, police said.

The suspects stole several hundred dollars in cash and about $1,000.00 in merchandise,” according to a statement from Ansonia Police Lt. Patrick Lynch.

The suspects were all described as young black men. 

One suspect was wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, white sweatpants, black and white sneakers, with black and white gloves.

Police said a second suspect was wearing a black, Nike hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, white and grey sneakers and purple gloves. He displayed a silver handgun.

The third suspect was wearing a black and red jacket, grey jeans, and grey sneakers.

Police said a blue Honda sedan parked near the intersection of Pershing Drive and Bridge Street may have played a role in the crime.
