A Shelton man was charged with breach of peace and interfering with an officer Thursday after he allegedly parked his car in a handicap spot and called police on himself.
Shelton police used a Taser on Michael Andes, 29, after he became aggressive when they responded to the call, according to a statement issued by Lt. Robert Kozlowsky.
Police said they received a call from Andes at about 2 a.m. Thursday.
He told police he had purposely parked his car in a handicap spot near his home on Howe Ave. Andes complained that the police department doesn’t enforce the parking laws.
He called police 15 times, police said.
When police responded to the address, Andes approached them, yelling that police do not do their job, according to the statement.
“Police tried to calm the man down, but he continued to yell and scream and approached the officers in an aggressive manner,” Kozlowsky wrote in the press release. “Officers attempted to detain the male, but he pulled away and took an aggressive stance at the officers.”
That’s when officers used the Taser.
Andes was released on a $1,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear at Superior Court in Derby on Sept. 6.
