
SHELTON – Police said two teenagers were arrested on Nov. 20 in connection to a stolen firearms investigation.
It’s the second set of arrests connected to the case. The first arrests were made Oct. 24.
Police said two firearms were stolen from a Shelton residence on Oct. 17.
Police described the investigation in broad strokes.
“During the investigation it was discovered that several persons had possession of the firearms,” according to a prepared statement.
“Through interviews and follow up investigation the Shelton Police applied for and were granted search warrants to search residences and vehicles in Shelton, Derby, and North Haven. During the execution of the search warrants, both stolen firearms were recovered,” according to police.
A 15-year-old Shelton resident was charged with two counts of illegally transferring a stolen firearm, along with two counts of carrying a pistol without a permit.
A 16-year-old Shelton resident was charged with two counts of stealing a firearm, two counts of illegally transferring a stolen firearm, and two counts of carrying a pistol without a permit.
The court records are private by law because of the suspects’ ages.
